Peter Stefanides M.D.
I am a physician who specializes in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation as well as a visual artist. My artwork is based on my experience working as a physician for the past 20 years. In the past couple of years, I have started making enamel paintings and portraits on empty vials which i have used in the office for injections. I also make etchings, ceramics, as well as digital drawings on stock medical photographs of healing figures as well as of healing orbs. My therapy bears emerge from the world of physical therapy and are constructed using the shapes of exercise balls and foam rollers. I also enjoy making oversized fracture cast sculptures as well as of therapy balls using plaster bandages. These are emblems of healing. I strive to be an agent of healing in both my medical and artistic practices.
